Air & recovery

MORRFlate Air Hub + 6-tire trailer hoses

Keeper

Clifford + Turtleback · Crown King, Apr 2026

I hook up Clifford and the Turtleback, set one target PSI on the screen, and it airs everything down on its own and beeps when it’s done. No walking tire to tire with a gauge. Airing back up at the pavement is just as easy: all six tires fill together while I do my walkaround.

Camp

Taruca Rogue 270 XC awning + wall kit

Keeper

Turtleback · Crown King, Apr 2026

On a windy ridge at 6,900 feet, a couple of wall panels on the 270 XC turned the awning into a windbreak. With the lights on and the propane fire pit going, we had a cozy little living room for s’mores.

Towing

RIGd UltraSwing

Keeper

Landy + Turtleback · Mt. Graham, Labor Day 2026

Our first long-distance, off-road tow with it, and it was flawless. I could tow the Turtleback and still carry the spare on the swing-out.

Camp

RIGd UltraTable

Keeper

Landy · Mt. Graham, Labor Day 2026

Extra prep space at camp all day. At night it held the diesel heater that kept mama and Collin warm in the rooftop tent.

Every trip

Our dual-zone fridge goes on every trip. Plenty of room for packed meals and drinks for a long weekend, with space left over.

Power & comms

Veritas Vans Starlink Mini mount

Keeper

Turtleback · Mt. Graham + Crown King

The best part of this mount is how versatile it is. Starlink doesn’t like tall pines, and at camp the trees were blocking the sky. It’s super easy to unhook the mount from the trailer and move the Mini out to a clearing, which I couldn’t do with other permanent Starlink mounts. Once it was in the open, we stayed connected even where Verizon came and went.

Power & comms

weBoost cell booster

Helps

Mt. Graham, Labor Day 2026

At camp on Mt. Graham we had one intermittent bar of Verizon LTE, and the booster helped. Starlink was our reliable connection.

Suspension

Falcon 2.1 shocks (2019)

Worn out

Clifford · since 2019

Definitely blown out, and they made the washboard on the Bumble Bee road a lot less comfortable. New Falcon 3.3 SP2 Fast Adjust shocks are on order. Full review once they’ve got some miles on them.
